About

Musings on music, culture, education, and the ways they shape how we learn and connect.

Karnatik Music & Creative Practice
Rooted in Karnatik music, I am deeply engaged in conceptualising and composing music for thematic concerts. My creative work includes reimagining Kannada poetry—from the classical period to the modern era—through Indian classical and world music idioms, reflecting an ongoing dialogue between literature, tradition, and contemporary musical expression.

An arts manager with over three decades of experience in performance, pedagogy, and concert conceptualisation, I am also a management professional from IIM Kozhikode. I have been awarded the Junior Fellowship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for my research at the intersection of culture and economics, underscoring my commitment to integrating artistic practice with professional and institutional frameworks.

Music Education & Advocacy
A strong advocate for arts integration in education, my work emphasises the role of music and visual arts in nurturing social-emotional learning, particularly in early childhood. My research on music education and socio-emotional development has been published in an international conference journal, and I regularly present, conduct lecture-demonstrations, and engage in arts advocacy across cultural and educational platforms.

Teaching, Curriculum & Community Engagement
As a music educator, I have taught students across age groups, designed curriculum content, led workshops, and introduced countless children to the joys of music. I am specially passionate about curating experiential arts programmes for children and inter-generational families, using the arts as a medium for connection, learning, and shared cultural experiences.

Authorship & Documentation
I have co-authored a book with my mother Prof Geetha Sreenivasan, documenting the lives of musicians who died young, which is also available as an audiobook in Kannada and English, accompanied by musical performances across digital platforms.
