Kannada Kavya Kamanabillu, conceptualized in 2020, is an experimental music project that brings Kannada poetry from classical, medieval and modern time periods into dialogue with Indian classical and World Music forms not traditionally associated with these texts. By combining two rich cultural traditions, the project invites wider audiences to engage with classical poetry through music, and explores how literary texts can shape musical structure. It re-contextualizes both forms as accessible, living practices for contemporary audiences.
